Garrett College is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Sean Beachy, of Grantsville, as an adjunct instructor of music for the upcoming spring semester. A native of Garrett County, Beachy earned his bachelor of arts degree from Alderson-Broaddus College in applied piano, a master of music degree in composition from Shenandoah University, and a doctorate from West Virginia University in music composition. Piano Studies offered at Garrett College Northern Outreach Site. Starting in October, the Continuing Education and Training Division of Garrett College will offer course in piano on Tuesday and Thursdays, 4 to 5:30 p.m. in ten, half-hour individualized segments by appointment. GRANTSVILLE — Sean Elliot Beachy of Grantsville won the fifth annual an-them competition of the First Baptist Church of Worcester, Mass. The winning anthem, titled “A New Birth” and based on the assigned competition text from I Peter 1:3-6, garnered the $1,300 prize. West Virginia University music student Sean Beachy recently won first place in the Annual Anthem Competition sponsored by the First Baptist Church of Worcester, Mass. Beachy is currently studying for a doctorate in music composition in the Division of Music in the College of Creative Arts.
